Gene Hex ● Evening of Light Triptych by The Bedroom Witch is an EP and a short film comprising three music videos. In the music, darkwave meets synthy alternative pop with a new age vibe, while the film is a psychological witchy horror affair. The whole thing is dreamy, weird, and ϙueer, and I’m totally here for it. Favorite track: To Get Over Heartbreak.

The Lovers 04:16
spent the night at my house together fed you honey from my mouth we are lovers caught in a drought caught in a drought I know no one has my heart the way you do I'm so easily hurt when you are too and it moves you I'm so easily caught up in my moods and they haunt you caught in a drought I'd chase away the darkest day to ever come between us I'm still afraid you'll go away to try and hide your weakness of loving me too much I know no one has my heart the way you do I'm so easily hurt when you are too I'm so easily caught up in my moods and they haunt you I'd chase away the darkest day (nothing will come between us) I'm still afraid you'll go away to try and hide your weakness (of loving me too much) I know no one knows me quite the way you do I pull the two of hearts every night with you

he had an appetite for empathy had me believe he was a different kind of breed when I would roll (when I would roll) into his arms (into his arms) said "I wish I could wear you like a charm around my wrist" and I lose all feeling trying to get my rage out one way or another but I know (I know) the only way (the only way) to get over heartbreak murder all your thoughts and I won't sleep, I won't leave I can't be until it's over I won't sleep, I won't leave I can't live with this forever what a fool I would have been to have no reason so stay out of it (I couldn't walk out carrying a lie) what a fool I've been (without a kiss for cyanide eyes) and I lose all feeling trying to get my rage out one way or another but I know (I know) the only way (the only way) to get over heartbreak murder all your thoughts and I won't sleep, I won't leave I can't be until it's over I won't sleep, I must speak I can't live with this regret then out of the blue I suddenly need to remember the last words I had spoken to you "to get over heartbreak, murder all your thoughts" I won't sleep, I won't leave I can't be until it's over I won't sleep, I must speak I can't live with this forever

what eats at me? the stillness of trees what eats at me? teething like bleach is me it's me I'm the one that let them get in left the doors and windows open I'm hosting intruders when the wood foundation's rotting what goes down with me are memories I'll no longer be myself: this house this house is no longer yours to mistreat you'll go down with it in piles of debris nobody's home in this house this house is no longer yours what eats at me? the layer underneath what eats at me? the stillness of trees what eats at me? dripping in bleach

about

Trapped in an ice cave with a stoic lover beneath the House of Empath, The Bedroom Witch one night sees a promising vision of escape offered by the Fourth Sister. This overture, however, comes at a deadly consequence as 'Triptych' follows a story of obsession, murder, and a descent into madness.

"Triptych"is a 19 minute concept film told through three music videos with prose interludes in between ---- The film is an accompaniment to the Bedroom Witch's 6th album release

about

The Bedroom Witch Los Angeles, California

Cast as the misunderstood maker of the veil, the Bedroom Witch lyrically chants spells alluding to an inevitable apocalypse while embodying the creative exhaustion of isolation. Her aesthetics build on dark pop ballads, an ominous execution of chord progressions through mysterious allure and a danceable haunting that produces the nostalgic agony of Hell/Limbo theories ... more
