she will let the smoke rise to keep the evil eye away I don't know how she keeps her head up so high in the rain and the facades she won't believe are true the power comes from love in nature's bloom there's something about the way she's moved by everything (my mother grows plants with her eyes) there's something about the way she cares for every being (my mother grows plants with her eyes) I don't know how she keeps her head up so high through the day she knows that I see the end to everything but it's so clear her garden is always green in me there's something about the way she's moved by everything (my mother grows plants with her eyes) there's something about the way she cares for every being (my mother grows plants with her eyes) her garden is always green in me she knows that I see the end to everything (my mother grows plants with her eyes)

i'm a mess, too depressed to be seen is it time to face reality? I can feel the heavens under me and all my pleasures are fading out when the weather worries them do you wish it all on yourself? when the wind is blowing north do you listen closely to death? they spin the wheel of misfortune, I I spin the wheel of misfortune (you lose to every round it turns your two truths will lead you to the core) I can feel the heavens under me and all my pleasures are fading out when the weather worries them do you wish it all on yourself? when the wind is blowing north do you listen closely to death? they spin the wheel of misfortune, I I spin the wheel of misfortune (out of reach, I feel grief) they spin the wheel of misfortune I spin the wheel of misfortune

my own advice is failing me, the missing piece of clarity you see yourself in everything, I have to blur it like a dream I don't fashion myself to feed your curiosities I will be the last standing myth (I will be the last one to fall) I will lead a mystifying myth to him don't hesitate to look beyond the glass all you see is the suppression of a heartless man my only vice that I don't need is you validating me you let yourself unravel me, I have to tighten just to speak I don't fashion myself to feed your curiosities don't hesitate to look beyond the glass all you see is the suppression of a heartless man don't hesitate to get him off my back all I feel is the aversion of a heartless man my only vice that I don't need is you validating me I don't fashion myself to feed your curiosities I will be the last standing myth

about

I moved out of my parents house this past summer after being back there, in what I called the limbo period, for a year. I noticed so much more about my parents that I had never seen growing up and I developed a bond with them that was completely separate from my childhood. That bond specifically grew between me and my mother; our newfound connection made me realize how truly magic she is. They helped me move this summer and there was a small tree sprouting in the backyard that my mother was obsessed with and kept watering it while talking to it like a baby. A couple of months later she came to visit and checked in on that same tree out back. She gasped when she saw that it grew so rapidly since the move. She looked at me with a playful smile and said in farsi "look what I did with this tree. Did you know that I can make plants grow just by looking at them?" I can't explain why those words stuck to me so potently and emotionally, but I named this EP after what she said to me that day. This EP is dedicated to my mother's magic; her power to heal, to grow, and to nurture.

about

The Bedroom Witch Los Angeles, California

Cast as the misunderstood maker of the veil, the Bedroom Witch lyrically chants spells alluding to an inevitable apocalypse while embodying the creative exhaustion of isolation. Her aesthetics build on dark pop ballads, an ominous execution of chord progressions through mysterious allure and a danceable haunting that produces the nostalgic agony of Hell/Limbo theories ... more
